This dreamPuff Marshmallows Blog Post is Amazing and Interesting

The holiday season is over and we’ve ushered in a new year.  Team dreamPuff would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.  And thank you for being our customers, friends, family and support.

I don’t make new year resolutions.  Instead of resolutions, I try to make a goal or two – something I’d like to do better. Last year one of my goals was to blog more.  I figured that was sort of a “gimme” goal.  Right up there with giving up lima beans and liver for lent.  I really couldn’t blog any less.  Could I?

Yeah. I did submit  fewer dreamPuff blog posts in 2011 than in 2010. I’m not sure what happens. I write posts. I cook and experiment with new ingredients, formulas and recipes. I take tons of photos of everything from farmers’ markets to  industry events to grains of sugar. Some where in there I end up deciding “whatever” was just not that interesting.

This year, 2012, one of the goals is to be easily amazed.  I will try to find everything interesting and amazing. Posts will pour.

dreamPuff Marshmallows…A Blog Update!

I’ve been taking a bit of ribbing from friends and colleagues about the lack of updates to the dreamPuff blog.  Lack of meaty posts does make it appear there isn’t anything going on in the dreamPuff Marshmallow world.  But that just isn’t the case.  There is A LOT going on!  There have been new products, new marshmallow flavors, new press, and new venues…lots of new.

There have been a few new observations.

I’ve noticed retail stores carrying dreamPuff Marshmallows have started ordering “edgier” flavors.  Stores that only stocked Classic Vanilla and Peppermint have started asking for dreamPuff Green Tea, Blackberry Cabernet and our Bananas Foster Marshmallows.

During the opening weekend of the Troy Waterfront Summer Farmers’ Market, Mint Julep Marshmallow was the top seller followed by Lemon Pucker Marshmallows.

Opening weekend of 2010, Classic Vanilla was king.

We’re being asked about new flavors.  One gourmet food retailer wanted to know what will be our wildest creation this year.  I know the answer to that question.  But I’m not going to tip my hand.

I love how comfortable customers are becoming with our handmade marshmallows and nontraditional flavors.  It means I get to cut loose and experiment with more ingredients.

This is going to be fun.

We call it The Rocky Road Project…

dreamPuff Rocky Road Brownie

The Rocky Road Project had a soft release on March 19, 2011. We’re now in full swing. This project uses the popular dreamPuff rocky road brownie to generate funds for charitable contribution.

The dreamPuff Rocky Road Brownies are priced at $2.00.  One dollar from each brownie sale goes to the Joseph House & Shelter in Troy, NY.
